Lavender

The Ontario SPCA Leeds & Grenville Branch needs your help with the cost of caring for a four year old female Mastiff mix, named “Lavender”.

Lavender came into the Ontario SPCA in early April as a stray. She was very underweight and from the looks of her body condition it seemed as though she may have given birth to puppies recently.

Lavender is in need of entropian surgery, what is commonly referred to as “cherry eye”, in both eyes. The condition known as entropion, is an abnormal in-rolling of the eyelid that causes the eyelashes to scrape the surface of the eyeball. This condition can be very painful and can cause other problems, such as corneal ulcers or erosion.

The cost for a surgery of this kind and the after care required, is well over $1000. This is why we need your support.

Like many of the animals in our care, we have no history on this sweet-mannered dog but with your help, she is likely to make a full recovery and will eventually be a wonderful addition to anyone’s family.

Please donate today.

Lavender is our Pet of the Week, check out her video here
